Production History


The New York Monologues was first produced in Dublin, Ireland by The Attic Studio and Focus Theatre on May 11th – 23rd, 2009 at the International Bar, May 25th – 30th, 2009 Smock Alley Theatre, September 6th, 2009 at Electric Picnic in Co. Laois and September 24th – 27th, 2009 as part of the Bulmer’s International Comedy Festival. It was invited to Electric Picnic again in 2010. It was directed by Geraldine McAlinden and featured: Ciaran O’Grady, Elaine Reddy, Melissa Nolan, Patricia Fitzpatrick, Steve Wilson, Rory Mullen, Paul Tylak, John Hurley, Michael Bates, Sarah Ryan and Ross Hamilton Cleary.


The script was substantially reworked and produced in New York by Backyart Productions in Theater for the New City as part of the Dream Up Festival August 18 – 22, 2010. It was directed by Ruth McGowan and featured: Bobby Abido, Simon Feil, Taylor D. Martin, Delance Minefee, Laurie Schroeder and Max Woertendyke.


It made its Canadian premiere September 9, 2010 in Vancouver at J Lounge by Panda Productions, directed by Sean E. O’Hara and featured: Megan Phillips, Michael Germant, Laci Mailey, Zi Paris, Kurtis Maguire, Arvind Johal, Rob Gillespie, Johnny Gingell and Jarvis Strutt.
